Legal Project Management (LPM) as a special discipline of project management has been around for 15 years. When introducing LPM, many law firms limited themselves to training courses, tried to impose uniform methods and neglected change management. The results have often been disappointing. It is therefore high time to refine not only the tools and methods of LPM itself, but also the best practices for their introduction and practical implementation.

This article provides an overview of the driving forces and challenges in the introduction of LPM as well as tips on how to successfully implement it in the everyday work and modus operandi of law firms.
