Gerard Tanja provided a brief analysis of the main trends in the Dutch legal market in 2020 (also in the context of Covid) for a special edition of the Dutch Financial Times:
* International business law firms will further increase their market share in the Netherlands;
* ‘New’ legal service providers like the Big 4 and other type of law companies will, despite the restrictive regulatory framework, try to enter and expand into the Dutch legal market;
* The upper-quartile of the legal market will see consolidation over the next 5 years and at the same time we will see more spin-offs and more boutique firms entering the market due to increased competition.
